Verity and Dominic are getting married early next year so we had a trial photo shoot in York to get to know each other and get an image to use as a signature mount on the big day. We all had great fun starting off at the Hotel Du Vin and making for York’s wonderful railway station. I really enjoyed the couple of hours with Verity and Dominic and I am looking forward to the big day in the Yorkshire Dales. I have included one that we captured in station tunnel of a busker.
BYLAND ABBEY INN
On the edge of the North York Moors, snuggled beside a majestic Abbey is a hidden gem perfect for those looking for a unique place to have a truly memorable Wedding Day. The Abbey Inn is the perfect choice for either small intimate weddings or the more lavish affairs using the adjacent Byland Abbey. Once one of the greatest monasteries in England, Byland Abbey inspired the design of church buildings throughout the North. A truly outstanding example of early gothic architecture, it inspired the design of the famous York Minster rose window.
Jane Nordli and I put together a great group of suppliers to come along on this sunny and snowy December day to show what the Inn looks like decorated in a vintage style. I would particularly like to thank the three models Hannah, Sally and Barney for standing in the sunshine with snow blowing almost horizontally at us, which was bizarre, to say the least.
Also a big thank you to The Wedding Room in Scarborough for the wonderful wedding dresses, The Original Cuff Company and Tamsin from 1860 Formal Hire at Greenwoods in Scarborough for Barney’s outfit, Rachel from Simple Vintage Events for the wonderful vintage look and Kymm Queen for the brilliant flowers.
